What is the maximum day by day intake of BIOTIN that your body can use?

The RDA is 300 mcg but I've seen biotin supplements of doses better than 5000 mcg..apparently from what ive heard in that is no such thing as "biotin toxicity" as the excess is only just metabolised and flushed out in urine..this seem like a throw away to me..why take 5000 mcg when your body can with the sole purpose use 300 mcg? or am I getting this wrong..can the human body use up to 5000 mcg (5.0 mg!) of biotin daily?
Biotin is a sea soluble B vitamin; excess is excreted in urine.
My dermatologist recommend taking 2500mcg/day for strengthening hair and nail. It takes in the region of 6 months, but it really works.
